In 2004, Nick started his real estate investing career. He started it just like everyone else, thinking that in order to build wealth in real estate one had to buy a property, fix it and sell it for more. While attending college, Nick started practicing the trade by learning how to operate power tools and set about building a shed at his parents house. The shed took almost the entire summer to complete. Surprisingly, it is still standing and functional til this day. It wasn’t until 2005, Nick realized that what he was doing was all wrong. Power tools were fun but they were hard work. The experience gained from operating power tools and the knowledge of looking at properties were great, but what he really wanted was to make money without risk and the need to rehab things.
Since Nick loves to read, he went to his local bookstore and read between 25 to 30 real estate and foreclosure books to fabricate on his current knowledge. However, he was more befuddled than ever after the readings. This is mainly because the strategies and approaches to invest that were taught in the books did not work in his area or just didn’t exist anymore. The objective in investing is to figure out where to get the right knowledge and utilize it on current markets. With that thought, Nick continued his journey.
In mid 2005, Nick found what he was looking for. Referred by a friend, Nick attended his first Real Estate Boot Camp, where he was inspired to take actions. He went out and did everything he was taught. Nick gradually had 3, 7, 15 deals and they all went great, except no profits were made. The excitement was starting to fade.
Nick then went from one seminar after another until he figured out the problem. In the end, he realized that every seminar/class out there was just teaching you a small part of a bigger picture and the only way to see the entire picture was to take every class there is out there. Not having a million dollars at the time, Nick knew there had to be a another way.
Having a network built among the wealthy and the sophisticated real estate investors, Nick went and offered to work for free to learn the tricks of the trade. After a year of studying, Nick was now able to see and understand the entire picture. Excited as usual, Nick went out and blew up his first closing which would have netted him $50,000. The crying went on for weeks and since then the rest is history.
Today Nick is recognized as an entrepreneur and sophisticated real estate investor. If anyone needs help in the world of real estate, Nick would not hesitate to lend a hand. Being able to help his friends and family succeed in real estate investing, Nick has found a new joy and perspective in life. Since then, Nick went on to help create “Investors Academy LLC”, a company established to teach others how to do what he does.
Nick's main interest are saltwater fish, reading and doing business.
